Anxiety Treatment
Anxiety is your body’s normal reaction to a scary situation. Presenting in front of a group, taking a big exam, going on a first date, asking for a raise, trying something new. However, if worry and fear are preventing you or your child from living a full and happy life, it might be time to ask for help.

The good news is research shows that therapy is usually the most effective option in treating anxiety disorders. Counseling can help you uncover the underlying cause of your fears and worries, help you learn how to relax, develop better problem-solving skills, and look at situations in new, less threatening ways. We will work to help you develop tools to combat your anxiety.

Christian/Spiritual Therapy

Christian therapy incorporates counseling with a Christian worldview.  Sessions include scripture, prayer, Biblical examples, and finding life purpose along with scientifically proven psychological techniques.  The goal is to help you walk through life's difficulties while keeping Biblical principles as the guide.  Christian counseling is not limited to only spiritual issues, but also identifies and addresses issues within the emotions and body.

Depression Therapy
Depression affects the body, mind and spirit. A depressive disorder is not the same as a passing blue mood. It is not a sign of personal weakness or a condition that can be wished away. People with a depressive disorder cannot merely “pull themselves together” and get better. Without treatment, symptoms can last for weeks, months, or years. Depression in children and adolescents can look very different to depression in adults. It can manifest as anger, irritability, and/or oppositional- defiant behaviors, among other ways. Appropriate treatment can help most people with depression.
Symptoms of depression may include:
  • Difficulty concentrating, remembering details, and making decisions
  • Fatigue and decreased energy
  • Feelings of hopelessness and/or pessimism
  • Persistent aches or pains, headaches, cramps, or digestive problems that  do not ease even with treatment
  • Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, and/or helplessness
  • Insomnia, early-morning wakefulness, or excessive sleeping
  • Irritability, restlessness
  • Loss of interest in activities or hobbies once pleasurable, including sex
  • Overeating or appetite loss
  • Persistent sad, anxious, or “empty” feelings
  • Thoughts of suicide, suicide attempts
Depression carries a high risk of suicide. Anyone who expresses suicidal thoughts or intentions should be taken very, very seriously. Do not hesitate to call your local suicide hotline immediately.
