Depression Therapy

What is Depression Therapy?

Depression therapy provides a person with an opportunity to discuss their depressive symptoms, thoughts, and emotions.  When a client comes to Journey to Hope Counseling, LLC, they will have the opportunity to be a direct part of their treatment.  First, this involves setting the goals of depression therapy.  Christy does this so the client feels their needs are understood and met.  Sessions will also include discussing coping skills and reducing unhealthy thoughts through methods.  Clients have the option of including a Christian perspective upon their request.

What is Depression?

Depression is a disorder that affects the body, mind, and spirit.  There are many individuals that feel alone and frustrated not only by the symptoms of depression but the lack of understanding from family and friends.  Each person has different symptoms of depression.  Some individuals overeat and spend hours crying while others may feel numb and do not want to eat.  Additionally, some people have occasional or situational depression while others experience it without reason.

Depression can cause suicidal thoughts. Please call 1-800-SUICIDE (1-800-784-2433) or 1-800-273-TALK (1-800-273-8255) if you have thoughts of suicide.
